Lafayette County Rescue

Lafayette County Rescue operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year, serving the residents and visitors to Lafayette County Florida. an Advance Life Support Service capable of handling all types of Emergency and Non-Emergency situations that may arise. Currently we only operate 1 on duty unit at a time, with the ability to bring up to 4 units into operation with short notice. The current call volume is between 1200 and 1500 responses per year.

We currently have about 30 full-time and part-time employees, working for the service. Also we are one full-time paramedic short on our full-time staff now if you’re a medic and looking for a position. We have six full-time positions 24 part-time employees, and about 24 to 30 First Responders

We work the standard (for EMS ) work schedule or 24 hours on duty and 48 hours off-duty. The service has grown from one used truck and really old van to 4 fully equipped unit. One BLS (Basic Life Support) unit and three ALS (Advanced Life Support) units now make up our fleet. We’ve come from a 1971 doublewide mobile home to new fully equipped modern station, which we are very proud of. People from all over compliment us on what great station we have, this is due to the input from all the employees and staff to layout a station to meet current and future needs.

Lafayette County Rescue proudly support our school system and other local event and activities by donating our time and skills to numerous public events each year. These range from onsite demonstration for small organization to provide care and support for Pioneer Day ( a once year event) with over 10,000 people in the Town Park .

We invite everyone to stop by the station sometime and take a tour, or contact our business office at the Courthouse to schedule an onsite presentation at your organization or group.
